Elen Asatryan committed multiple misdemeanor acts of campaign violations via her Instagram account last week. On Thursday, February 26, 2026, an internal email was circulated among city officials challenging them to take action against her. Asatryan, who was aware of her violations, did nothing, and left her illegal content online for the weekend to get extra mileage.
On Monday morning, March 2, 2026, Glendale Mayor, Ara Najarian, issued a public statement on Facebook about the violation without naming Asatryan directly. He cited Elen Asatryan’s specific California elections code violations (section 18304) and noted their misdemeanor status.
Furthermore, he called for their immediate cessation, and indicated that he would report the violations to the Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) authorities, and the LA County District Attorney’s office.
If reported to the LA District Attorney, it would mark the second time within a year that Elen Asatryan has been referred to their office for her misconduct.
Elen, weighing the benefit of her illegal ads to her campaign vs. the damage they may do, hurriedly rushed to hide her content. If mentioned in this week’s City Council meeting at all, we’d have good reason to expect Elen to claim she was unaware of the election code. That wouldn’t fly. In addition to this campaign, she ran for State Assembly in 2024, for City Council in 2022, and served as campaign manager for disgraced former council member Zareh Sinanyan.
Elen knows the law.
Elen breaks the law.
We can only hope that Glendale voters learn from their mistakes and REJECT Elen Asatryan in the June 2, 2026 election.
