Dan Brotman looks forward to pensioners dying

Dan Brotman looks forward to pensioners dying to save Glendale from his own fiscal irresponsibility. It’s unfortunate when a politician sees a means to municipal financial recovery in a future where our pensioned seniors are dead. But that’s what Councilmember Dan Brotman said at the North West Glendale Homeowners Association City Council Candidate Forum on March 26, 2026, when explaining his outlook for recovery from Glendale’s pension obligations. His optimism comes from his belief that by 2035 pensioners from the pre-PEPRA reform period “will start dying off.”

Dan Brotman hopes pensioners die ASAP.

Should our pre-PEPRA pensioned seniors feel guilty for being alive? Did Brotman tell them the city will be better off when they’re dead? I believe, in so many words, he did. It’s a very sad, even twisted, way to look at constituents. For the record, I’d wish them all long, happy, healthy lives without regard to municipal expenses. We can’t put a price on the value of a human life. I fully reject Dan Brotman for his policy, and for his lack of character and compassion.
